Washington D.C. Legation founded

The US capital returns to the Academy with the foundation of the Washington D.C. Legation thanks to the efforts and commitment of the new Legate, Maby Palmisano. Beyond the District of Columbia, its jurisdiction also includes various counties in Maryland and Virginia and the independent cities of Alexandria, Falls Church and Fairfax.
Of Roman origin, Maby Palmisano moved to the USA in 1996. After working in military sociology, she has been working in monitoring and assessment of development projects supported by important institutional backers. Very active in the Italian community, she is a member of the non-profit organisation D.I.V.E. and is President of both ITALIANS IN DC and COMITES in Washington. This prestigious new branch also has two new Academicians: Kenneth Bussi and Claudio Purificato. More enthusiasts of Italian traditions and cuisine will soon join the new Legation.
